Dysport or Botox: which is right for you?
Both relax the muscles behind expression lines, and both are FDA-approved for frown lines. Botox Cosmetic also has approvals for crow's feet, forehead lines and neck bands. Dysport is dosed in its own units that do not convert to Botox units, so compare the total for your plan rather than the price per unit.

We carry both at our Portland and Vancouver clinics. If you have had one before, bring what you know about your dose and how long it lasted, and we can compare plans side by side. Read our Botox vs Dysport guide or see Botox in Portland.

The improvement lasted up to four months. The most common side effects were a stuffy, sore nose and throat and headache.

Which lines can Dysport treat in Portland?
Dysport is FDA-approved for frown lines, the vertical lines between the brows often called the 11s. Injectors also use it for forehead lines, crow's feet and other areas, which are off-label uses. At your Portland visit we tell you which areas are approved, which are not, and what the evidence and risks are for each.

Frown lines between the brows
The labeled treatment: 50 units across five points in the muscles that pull the brows together. Many people choose Dysport for this area alone.
Other areas we discuss
- Horizontal forehead lines
- Crow's feet at the outer eyes
- Lines on the sides of the nose
- Dimpling on the chin
Off-label means the use was not part of the FDA approval. We explain the reasoning, the dose and the risks before you decide.

Stronger brows, same approach
Brow muscles vary from person to person, so we set your units to your muscles at assessment. That is why two people's totals can differ.
