Is Dysport the same as Botox? Four things Vancouver clients ask
No. Dysport and Botox Cosmetic are both botulinum toxin type A, and both are FDA-approved for frown lines, but they are separate products made by different companies. Each is measured in its own units, so a Dysport dose is not a Botox dose with a different name. The fair comparison is the total cost of your plan.
- "Dysport is just cheaper Botox."
It is a different product, abobotulinumtoxinA, made by Ipsen and distributed by Galderma. Its lower price per unit reflects a different unit scale, not a weaker product.
- "One Botox unit equals three Dysport units."
Both FDA labels say their units are not interchangeable and cannot be converted. Your injector doses each product on its own scale.
- "Dysport is approved for crow's feet."
Dysport's FDA approval covers frown lines between the brows in adults under 65. Other areas are off-label, and we explain what that means before treatment.
- "More units means longer-lasting results."
The labeled frown-line dose is 50 units. Dosing beyond what your muscles need adds cost and risk, so we set units to your movement at assessment.

How many units of Dysport do I need?
For frown lines, the FDA label calls for 50 units: five injections of 10 units, two in each corrugator muscle and one in the procerus between the brows. Other areas are off-label and use different amounts. Your Vancouver injector watches how your brows move, then sets the units and the total.
Members pay $185 (Glow, $3.70 a unit) or $170 (Elite, $3.40 a unit) for the same 50 units.
What does Dysport cost in Vancouver, WA with a membership?
Dysport is $4 a unit at regular pricing. Glow members pay $3.70 a unit for $100 a month, and Elite members pay $3.40 a unit for $200 a month. Membership dollars are banked toward treatments at our Vancouver and Portland clinics, and members also save on other regular-priced services.

Compare membershipsHow long does Dysport last, and when will I see results?
In the FDA studies for frown lines, improvement was already visible in most people by Day 14, was measured in full at Day 30, and lasted up to four months. The label allows retreatment no more often than every three months, so many Vancouver clients plan their next visit around the three- to four-month mark.

Who gets Dysport in Vancouver?
Adults with frown lines that show when they concentrate or squint, and often with lines that stay once the face relaxes. Men and women both choose Dysport. Brow muscles differ in strength and shape, which is why we set units person by person instead of using one number for everyone.

Frown lines that linger
When the 11s stay visible at rest, the labeled frown-line dose is usually where we start, then we review at your follow-up.

Dysport for men
Men often want softer frown lines without a frozen look. We plan the units to keep natural movement in the rest of the forehead.

Dysport in Vancouver, WA: FAQs
Questions we hear most at our Mill Plain Blvd clinic.
How much does Dysport cost in Vancouver, WA?
Dysport is $4 a unit at Cosmetiq Medicine in Vancouver. The 50 units labeled for frown lines come to $200 at the regular price, $185 for Glow members and $170 for Elite members. Your units and total are confirmed before treatment.
Is one unit of Botox equal to three units of Dysport?
No. Both FDA labels say their units are not interchangeable and cannot be converted from one product to the other. Your injector doses Dysport on its own scale, so compare the total cost of a plan rather than converting units.
Is Dysport better than Botox?
Neither is better for everyone. Both are FDA-approved for frown lines, and Botox Cosmetic also has approvals for crow's feet, forehead lines and neck bands. People choose based on the area, past results and total cost. We carry both and quote either.
How long does Dysport last?
In the FDA frown-line studies, improvement lasted up to four months. Movement returns gradually, and the label allows retreatment no more often than every three months. Many people plan their next visit around three to four months.
When will I see Dysport results?
In two of the label studies, investigators rated frown lines improved in 83% to 90% of people by Day 14, and the full result was measured at Day 30. Many people notice softening within the first week or two.
What are the most common side effects of Dysport?
In the frown-line studies, the most common were nose and throat irritation (10%), headache (9%), injection site pain or reaction (3% each) and eyelid swelling or drooping (2% each). Rarely, the effect can spread and cause swallowing or breathing problems.
Can Dysport affect your vision?
Eyelid swelling and drooping eyelids each occurred in 2% of people in the frown-line studies, and the label warns that toxin effects can rarely spread and cause double or blurred vision. Get help right away if your vision changes after treatment.
Can I combine Dysport with XERF or laser in Vancouver?
Yes, many clients plan both. XERF, IPL and other laser treatments are offered only at our Vancouver clinic, and we set the order and spacing between Dysport and any energy treatment at your consultation.
Do men get Dysport in Vancouver?
Yes. Men often have stronger brow muscles and want to soften frown lines without losing natural movement. We set units after watching how your brows move, so totals vary from person to person.
Is Dysport offered at both Cosmetiq Medicine clinics?
Yes. Dysport is available at our Vancouver clinic at 12000 SE Mill Plain Blvd and at our Portland clinic at 10735 SE Stark St, with the same menu prices. Book either location online or call or text (503) 572-2675.
