Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment indicated for lines, folds, wrinkles, pores, pigmentation, scars, stretch marks, and hair regeneration. Microneedling results in firmer, smoother, radiant, and younger skin.

The one time use cartilage of microneedles penetrates the skin repeatedly to create microchannels or microinjuries. The skin responds by producing new collagen and elastin, which make the skin firmer and smoother. The loss of collagen and elastin with aging is what makes the skin look old, thin, and wrinkly. The concurrent use of growth factors, stem cells, or PRP accelerates the skin rejuvenation and the hair growth.

Microneedling is also used for reducing the appearance of cellulite, the microneedles mechanically break down the fibrils or septa that pull the skin inward causing depressed

-looking skin. More passes per treatment and more treatment sessions are needed for cellulite reduction. Microneedling is called “cheap laser” because it gives equivalent results to laser/light treatment.

The treatment requires topical numbing. It is quick and comfortable. At the end of the treatment, the skin will look red and flushed for a few hours. By the next day, the skin will look normal and refreshed as the microinjuries will be completely healed. Optimal results of microneedling can be seen in 6-8 weeks and the results will last up to a year. For better results, it is recommended to complete a course of 3-6 treatments at 4-8 week interval as this gives the skin time to regenerate collagen though repetitive injuries followed by natural healing.
