The Erbium Yag laser energy is attracted to the water in our skin. The top layer of the tissue is dusted off or ablated. Heat is then put to the dermal tissue to stimulate collagen realignment. The energy is then captured in the epidermis and dermis skin layers creating a thermal injury which causes changes in the skin. Once injured, the skin begins a very rapid process of repair aka your new skin.
